Mark your calendars!  The ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Penrose Community Library is set for Thursday, July 10th at 9 am on the corner of Dawson and 7th in Penrose.  Everyone is invited to attend this historic occasion.

Library Director, Kristi Lindsey, states that, “It has truly been an honor to have had the opportunity to work on this building project.  The way that the entire community has pulled together to make this happen has been an incredible experience.  The library is an integral part of the community and serves as the major resource for information for the residents of Penrose”.

The Library began fundraising only two years ago and has managed, through grants, fundraisers and individual donations, to raise over $800,000.    The new library will contain a community meeting room, quiet reading area, a local history section, a large young adult area and additional computers for the public to use.  For additional information about the library or the building project please call 372-0606.
