General Guidelines
The Penrose Community Library District (PCLD), with its goal of providing the best possible traditional and innovative library services, makes available to the public a variety of information resources.
The Internet is a valuable resource that benefits all library users and expands the scope and usefulness of the public library well beyond its walls. Please be aware that the Internet also provides access to material that some users may consider inappropriate. It is the responsibility of every parent or guardian to supervise and oversee their child’s use of Internet resources.
The PCLD filters all of our computers and Wi-fi access equally. Our filtering system meets the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) and Colorado State law regulations.
The PCLD does not guarantee the protetion of users’ personal information due to the public nature of the library use computer systems.
By accessing or using the Library’s computers or network, you signify that you have read, understood and agree to comply with terms of this policy.
Patrons agree to abide by the following guidelines when using the Internet and Computers:
Time Limits
Patrons are not limited in their use of the library computers unless there is a waiting list. In those circumstances, a 30 minute limit will be enforced. Staff is not responsible for time lost due to technical problems.
The Library reserves the right to terminate an Internet/computer session at any time. If the patron does not comply, we reserve the right to leave the library.
Printing and Downloading
Patrons are welcome to use the available PCLD printers. The first five pages are free, there is a .10 per page charge for each additional page.
No material may be downloaded to a PCLD computer.
Users may not install software on any PCLD computer or run any programs that have not been loaded by PCLD staff.
