Using Local Plants as Medicine

The Penrose Community Library is excited to announce
a free class offered by local resident, Katie Sanders, a master herbalist, on
Saturday, December 14th at 12 pm.
During this class you will learn to identify and use ten local plants
and trees for medicine and prayer.
Participants will learn three ways to make medicine and the traditional
uses of our local, indigenous herbs.

            There
will be a book signing for Katie Sanders’ new book, “The Medicine Person’s
Guide to Herbalism; Healing with Plant Medicines, Stones, Animal Spirits, and
Ceremony”.  The author will have her
other titles available as well.  The
library is located at 35 7th Avenue in Penrose.  Light refreshments will be served.  Please call the library at 719-372-6017 for
