Sherry Skye Stuart, local author, will present her newest book "Forgotten Female Felons" from 6 - 7:30 pm on June 7th.
"Based on facts and woven with elements of history and human nature , these historical fiction short stories take the reader inside the reader inside the Female Department of the Colorado Territorial Prison from 1872-1910. Using original intake sheets and other historical documents, Stuart skillfully tells the female felons imagined stories and restores their dignity as women. The stories are an overlooked thread in the tapestry of the American West.
